We Are Off to a Great Start! This year's Kick-off Meeting was held at a beautiful home in Rancho Santa Fe, designed by world-renowned architect, Lillian Rice! Many thanks to RSF Women's Fund member, Ann Brizolis and her business partner, Jennifer Janzen, for not only helping us to secure the location, but for generously underwriting the event! With many members in attendance, as well as a few guests, Board Chair Mary Consalvi opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and sharing a preview of the exciting events planned for the year ahead.
Grant Committee Co-Chairs Maritia Walper and Sara Bennett delivered some thrilling news: this year, we have had a record breaking 151 Letter of Intent submissions, representing a total ask of $7.2 Mil.
Mary also took a moment to introduce a several of our newest members while Senior Membership Chair, Marilyn Tedesco warmly welcomed our guests.
Finally, Programs Chair Muffy Walker introduced our Guest Speaker, Dr. Dimitri Deheyn, Associate Research Scientist from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Dr. Deheyn gave a facinating and eye-opening talk about Microplatics in the Environment. (Photo credits: Amy Myers, Dana Korey, Mara Buchholz, Marina Smith and Pilar Meza) |
Membership and Guest Policy
Renewing members are considered "lapsed" if they have not made their contribution by November 15th. After this time, they will not be allowed to register for any meetings or social events. In addition, they would no longer have access to the Members Only portion of the website nor would they have voting rights within the organization.
Each new guest is limited to attending ONE EVENT, regardless of sponsoring member.
Guest fees apply to all guests. Please note, this fee does not cover the meeting cost in its entirety and meetings are subsidized by the administrative budget (and by extension existing membership dues).
